Status: EXTINCT. Mcmurdodus is an extinct genus of sharks and the sole member of the family Mcmurdodontidae, in the order Hexanchiformes. It is from middle Devonian period, 390 million years ago.

Teeth and Jaw: This fossilized tooth of Mcmurdodus resembles the symmetrical tooth at the center of the lower jaws of modern Broadnose Sevengill Sharks. The teeth are thought to be saw-like.
