Only one species belongs to this order. The Crocodile shark is oceanic and can be found worldwide in tropical waters. They are slender-bodied, with large eyes, and distinctive long and slender teeth within a protrusible jaw. They are more than likely strong, active swimmers who may undergo a diel vertical migration. The Crocodile shark is ovoviviparous, and is currently of least concern with a steady, increasing population.
